Open Letters, September 15
I am one of the many residents of Niwot opposed to the incorporation effort. I have lived in Niwot for over 30 years, and this would be a disaster economically for the majority of residents. It could be a windfall for the very small number of wealthy people pushing this proposal for reasons not at all transparent.
Overall, this is a destructive solution to a relatively non-existent problem. Most concerning, it would drastically raise our taxes to pay for an unnecessary and unwieldy bureaucracy that, if the pro-incorporation meetings are any indication, would silence opposing views and refuse to answer questions.
